
Artist Statement
Tiki
My art piece is a stone Tiki sculpture with dreads and rain drops on it. In my art piece i am trying to show things that go with the water. The title of my piece is Polynesian Tiki. The most obvious elements is the Dreads.
I used clay to make my piece . I created my piece using a slab and some coils to make the dreads and the beard.
Nothing really inspired my art work. My art work does not express any social problems. There are also no emotions being showed in my art work.
My goals as a artist is to become a great artist and to become better at my craft. yes because it helped me find a new media and i learned new techniques that i an use in the future.
That it take time and a lot of skill and thinking to make a TiKi sculpture. yes i really like how it came out and i think its the best of all of my pieces because it looks the best and i tried the hardest on this one. I will take these techniques and use them on future pieces.
Master's Style
My art piece is a painting of a bomb on top of the word love with a upside down heart balloon. The style i choose is graffiti and the title of my work is masters style. The most obvious element is color and line.
This piece was created using acrylic paint. I used a variety of techniques to create this piece unique i used many different layers of color to make my piece the color i wanted.
Nothing really inspired me to do it other than i liked it and i ran with it. yes my art work shows how love in the world it like a ticking time bomb.
My goals as a artist is to become better at my craft and some day be really good in art. yes because it helped me find a media that i like.
That you need patience when you are doing art. yes it is i really like it and i think i did a really good job. in my future pieces i my use the say style and the same tools to create my pieces.
Foreshortening
My art work is a drawing of a barber pole that is attacked to a brick wall.The title of my piece is foreshortening and the main element is color i used different red and blue values to make these colors.
This piece was made by using pencils and and color pencils.I put down different values of the color to build up the darker colors.
There was not and inspiration for the piece i liked it so i drew it. No it does not show any emotions neither does it show a social issue.
My goals as a artist is to get better at my craft. Yes it did it helped me by showing me a different media and i also learned new techniques.
I learned how to make something look bigger up close and smaller with distance. It would be what i envisioned if i could have finished it. I may use some foreshortening in a future piece.

My piece has a blue background with a gray anchor that has a flower growing on it. There really is not a subject matter i liked the piece and i drew it and the tittle of my piece is named oil pastel. the most obvious element in my piece is color and lines.
My piece is made from oil pastel and i used heavy pressure on most of the piece and i used sgraffito on the flower.
I just really thought that the piece was cool so i decided to draw it and there is no emotional thing in the piece.
My goals as a artist is to get better and better at every art piece i do so one day my art will amazing. Yes it did help me because it helped me explore different medias and hopefully i find one i really like.
I learned many different things like heavy pressure to light pressure and i learned sgraffito. yes it is and i think it came out pretty good. this piece will influence my future art a lot because i might use this media ion the future on another piece
My art piece depicts a a colorful tree and with a dark back ground. The subject matter for my piece is a tree. There are several colors in this tree. The most obvious element in my piece is lines and the most obvious principle is contrast.
I started out mapping my piece and then i used wet on wet to create my back ground after i did the back ground i used wet on dry for the details. i used water color for this piece and some places i used wet on dry and wet on wet.
I just seen the art piece and i tried my best to recreate it in my own way. No there is no meaning in my piece i just like it so i painted it.
My goals as a artist is to become a drawer and a better painter. Yes because it helped me experience another media and it helped me explore new techniques.
It taught me to be patient with my pieces. Not really but in the future i will use this technique for my backgrounds in future pieces
My piece is of a woman and it is a close up view and she is smiling.The most obvious element is value the obvious principle we used is contrast.
I started by creating my grid i mapped out my piece and then i shaded and made sure there was contrast.
My inspiration for this piece was that she was showing joy and happiness. The emotion i tried to convey was a happy smiling lady.
My goal was to make a nice realistic art piece and make it look just like the picture that i was copying i did not reach my goal because i just started drawing and its not going to be perfect.
By creating this piece i learned cross hatching, contrast, and i learned to draw hair and a mouth. Overall i don't like the piece because it does not look good to me . I will use what i learned from this piece to help fix mistakes in the future.
Cross Contour
My art piece depicts a baseball on fire. it is a regular baseball that was thrown while it was on fire.it is a medium view. the title of the the piece is to show how a ball was hit so hard it caught on fire.
This piece was created by using a sharpie. i used dots to make my piece look 3D. first i mapped out my piece using a pencil and the i used a sharpie to find the right texture for my piece.
I really did not have a inspiration for my piece i just seen the picture and i liked it so i used it. there was no emotion i tried to depict in my piece i just copied what i seen.
My goals for this art piece was to make it look better than the first piece i created. yes i did reach my goal i think the piece i just finished looks better than my other one.
I learned that you can draw really nice art pieces only using a pen and ink. my final piece really is not what i imaged but as time goes on i it will get better. i will learn to fix more things in my future art piece than i did in this one.
